Anyone providing psychotherapy with children (ages 5-18) and their families or caregivers. Ideal for those working with foster or adoptive children or any child who you are noticing has attachment concerns in their relationship with adults.
We will be reviewing cases and talking about interventions, you are invited to contribute to this discussion.
The first meeting will be primarily teaching with time for questions and answers. I'll share about my work with Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (created by Dan Hughes, PhD), and how this looks in the therapy room.
The next 5 sessions will be based around case reviews from participants. I'll be using these case examples to provide teaching for in session interventions and a philosophical approach to working with children and families addressing attachment.
-- What if the child I'm working with doesn't have a diagnosis of Attachment Disorder?
I trust this way of working to create trust and resilience in children and families, regardless of their diagnosis. Oftentimes, a PTSD, Anxiety, of Depression diagnosis is present, but you may know the child's history includes attachment trauma.
-- Are there CEU's available?
Not at this time. But, you can reach out to me if you are a licensed counselor in the State of Oregon for individual consultation that can count toward CEU's for licensure.
-- What if I'd like to attend, but I'm not currently seeing clients?
I'd love to support you at a later time. This group is strictly for those actively working with clients for whom they'd appreciate support and guidance.
-- Do I have to live in Oregon to attend?
No. These are going to be taking place online. The time is PST, but you can live anywhere and take part, if the time slot works for you!
-- What if I'd like my team to attend this with me?
That'd be great, but I can also talk with your organization or group to pull together something to specifically support your work that may be more tailored around your client population as well as more inclusive of other staff.
Reach out, let's connect. If it all feels like a good fit, I'll send a payment link and the information you'll need for the start of the group.
